WHO ARE WE?
Canterbury Fiji Community is a not-for-profit organisation based in Christchurch in the province of Canterbury here in NZ. We are an incorporated society (under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908). As an incorporated society we are answerable to The New Zealand Companies Office which is part of the Ministry of Economic Development that is responsible for administering the Societies and Trusts Register that registers incorporated societies.
OBJECTIVES
Canterbury Fiji Community will carry out charitable activities to improve the well-being of Fijian people in Canterbury.
In particular the Society will
Foster/maintain/preserve Fijian languages/identities
- Foster and encourage employment, economic and enterprise development to help Fijian people raise their living standards
- Build Pacific communities capacity
- Provide information and assistance to improve the health and well-being of Fijian people
- Carry out other charitable objectives consistent with these objectives.
